2018: SO AR

SO AR is a collaboration between electronic musician/cellist Shanna Sordahl and percussionist Robert Lopez. The project emphasizes the musical transformation of spaces through the ritual of performance, and breathes deeply into the potential that music, sound, and gathering can, and do, hold in our lives. In addition to crafting composition for site-specific performances, the performers employ techniques such as repetition, rhythmic exchange, and timbral manipulation in their realization of these aims. “SO AR continues to explore what it is to enliven—to sound—spaces, instruments, bodies, and minds,” according to the performers.
